Sharing my SPW from the Introduction:
Sharing my SPW from Chapter 1:
Thomas Benefield
SPW activity response
Sentence – “What we need are learners who understand their current performance, recognize the gap between their current performance and the expected performance, and select strategies to close the gap.” I chose this sentence because I think this sums up why we use LPs as well as fits directly with the illustration we have of the Instructional Core. (pg. 6)
Phrase – “…teachers should carefully consider the phase of students’ learning needs.” I chose this because it is a prime example of purposeful teaching and corresponds to results guide our decisions pillar. (pg. 19)
Word – ” Learner” These are our clients and ourselves!
Javonne Stewart
Sentence -“Effective feedback is timely, specific, and includes actions that students can use to further their learning.” – This reminds me of how I try to use debate as both a participation strategy, but also as a part of learning a reflective practice. (p.4)
Phrase – “skill, will. and thrill…” – I love the discussion of the connection between these three terms. (p. 10)
Word – “transfer” – An annual goal of mine for both my teaching and student learning (p.12)
